Design Idea

Sketch 1

Sketch 2

Strand 3 & 4

Looking at the first table, I can see that both by sketches aren’t perfect and that both don’t meet the design specification perfectly. For example, sketch 1 met the colour whilst sketch 2 didn’t also sketch 1 and sketch 2 both don’t meet the background section. However, sketch 1 has met more of the specification of my design than sketch 2. After having done the first table, I also carried out a quantitive rating survey. From this peer evaluation, I can see that sketch 1 got the highest score which means that more people liked how sketch 1 look visually. After analysing both sketches and having conducted a peer evaluation, I can see that sketch 1 is the most popular and most liked sketch.

In conclusion, I will be using sketch 1 to create my game on Scratch because it is the one that meets more of the expectations and the one that my peers liked better. My target audience for my game is students and teenagers so it is crucial that I create something that will interest them so they will use my game to learn. If I would be stubborn and only decide what I like, then no one will want to play my game and I will not have helped anyone. On the other hand, I will be using some specific ideas from sketch 2 which I like more and I think could enhance and improve the game. For example, I prefer some of the backgrounds in sketch 2 rather than in sketch 1, also some of the sound effects are different in sketch 2 and I like them better. Yet I will still experiment to see if the changes will fit and make the game more interesting or if they will make it look bad.
